A Chicago police officer was caught on surveillance allegedly punching a pregnant woman in the stomach before blurting out racist remarks.
The pregnant woman claims she was an innocent bystander in the 5100 block of West Washington, as she watched the police officer chasing a suspected drug dealer at around 5:30that Friday. She and others laughed after the plain clothed police officer was too slow to catch him and the suspect got away. This infuriated the officer to the point of no return
Nicola Robinson claimed she was holding her one year old son as she was walking into her building when the officer shoved her and punched her on her side as hard as he could. He then went on a racist tirade calling her a black b—- and telling her to be glad he didn’t make her lose her f—- baby.
It wasn’t until Robinson mentioned the surveillance in the apartment building that the officer changed his demeanor. He apparently got very quiet and Robinson noticed, ” you could tell in his face that he knew he [messed] up.” The apartment buildings did indeed have surveillance cameras where the officer assaulted the woman. His abuse sent Robinson into premature labor, causing her to stay in a hospital for five hours until getting the okay to go home.
Robinson was not alone when she attacked by the officer. Her sister, Monique Dickerson, also witnessed the officer’s assault and the tirade that followed, claiming there were two other officers standing and watching but did not say anything.
The Chicago police released statements that they don’t condone abhorrent behavior and that the department has zero tolerance for what occurred. The police officer who committed these acts hasn’t been identified, but is currently under investigation and could be subject to disciplinary action well before the investigation is completed
